PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Fostering Resilience
We certainly have found ourselves in challenging times. After two years of COVID, the stakes for our students couldn't be higher, while our capacity as educators to take on more could hardly be lower. But there is hope for a positive path forward. In this session, we will acknowledge the road that led us here and identify what our students and colleagues need from the education system in the coming years. This session will answer perhaps the most important question we face: "What do our students need from a post-pandemic world?"
In this session, participants will...
-
Understand how the pandemic impacted all of us, especially with regards to chronic stress
-
Process how students have changed since March, 2020, and what that means for our educational system
-
Learn how to foster resilience in our students by giving them the gift of protective factors
-
Identify the small steps we all must take to enact big changes in support of our students' behavioral and mental health needs
